You know, I haven’t been living in a void the past few years, so I’m reasonably aware of the less than stellar reputation EA enjoys amongst the masses. That said, I guess I naively supposed that even they wouldn’t stoop to turning cherished icons of my childhood into what looks to all the world like an Evony clone. Now I know, I guess.

This is a little old, but it amuses my inner librarian. Which isn’t all that inner, but you knew that: Quoth the BBC – Librarians in New York’s oldest library have uncovered a surprising borrower with overdue books: George Washington. The first president of the United States of America borrowed two books from the New York Society Library in 1789 but failed to return them. Adjusted for inflation, he has since racked up $300,000 (£195,000) in fines for being some 220 years late. The New York Society Library says it will not pursue the fine. It would simply like the books back.
