Trying to work out adding shaders to leaderheads in Civ again. I’m being reminded that doing anything with Civ LHs is apocalyptically bad, but I did find this mini-tutorial, which combined with Ekmek’s guide to LH creation, should let me shader things with something like half the ridiculous nifswapping.
I don’t really want to spend a lot of time dwelling on this, because God knows we’ve dwelled on it enough over the past few years, but per a conversation I had with the nice man at SCSU this afternoon, I wish to draw your attention to the following: He tells me the actual diploma will be mailed sometime around the end of July. It’s over, I’m done.
Most of you who have seen my room in the past few years have noticed an astonishing array of squirrels, chickens, rabbits, velocirabbits, Darth Fuzzy, and Megatokyo strips, which are the sort of thing one puts up when one is in one’s twenties and does such things. The other thing currently above my desk, hiding a little above the printer by that amusing picture of the penguin and the rabbit cheerleaders, is an old photograph of Ulysses S. Grant, which I am informed was taken during the battle of Cold Harbor, which he lost.

Until a man is twenty-five, he still thinks, every so often, that under the right circumstances he could be the baddest motherfucker in the world. If I moved to a martial-arts monastary in China and studied real hard for ten years. If my family was wiped out by Columbian drug dealers and I swore myself to revenge. If I got a fatal disease, had one year to live, devoted it to wiping out street crime. If I just dropped out and devoted my life to being bad. —Neal Stephenson, Snow Crash
